The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. The Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated on October 7.

October is the Church’s annual call to return to the Rosary, the prayer that places our hand in Mary’s and our heart in Christ’s.

It is a month where the Church gently reminds us: to pray is to breathe with God.The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (7 October) anchors the month, recalling the power of prayer, the protection of Mary, and the victory of grace in every age.

Throughout October, Catholics across the world unite in praying the Rosary in homes, in churches, in quiet corners of daily life forming one great chain of intercession.

October is also the Church’s missionary month, culminating in World Mission Sunday.

The Rosary strengthens the soul for mission:

• Each Joyful Mystery teaches us openness to God’s plan.
• Each Sorrowful Mystery teaches us courage in suffering.
• Each Glorious Mystery fills us with hope.
• Each Luminous Mystery calls us to live as disciples of the Light.

To pray the Rosary is to let Christ’s life shape our own and to be sent out as His witnesses.

Why does the Rosary Matter This Month?

The Rosary is simple, but it is never small. It is:

• A path of peace in a restless world
• A school of prayer for families
• A weapon of hope against darkness
• A missionary act, lifting the needs of the world to God

October invites every parishioner to rediscover this treasure.

O Jesus living in Mary, come and live in Your servants, in the spirit of Your holiness, in the fullness of Your might, in the perfection of Your ways, in the truth of Your virtues, in the communion of Your mysteries. Subdue every hostile power, the devil, the world and the flesh, in the strength of Your Spirit, for the glory of Your Father, Amen.

For mental health ministry:

Let us pray that the mental health ministry be established throughout the Church, helping to overcome the stigma and discrimination of persons with mental illnesses. 

Every Sunday, between the months on September and July, during Mass, our youngest children (who have not completed First Holy Communion) are invited to take part in our special Children’s Liturgy. Led by our friendly catechists, the children gather in the parish hall for a fun, faith-filled session designed just for them.
